Tannoy is at Booth 2579 introducing the iw4DC, a full bandwidth, high performance, but very compact in-wall loudspeaker system.
Utilizing proprietary loudspeaker technology, the 100mm (four-inch) Tannoy Dual Concentric is a point source, constant directivity drive unit design comprising a multi fibre paper pulp mid bass cone and a 19mm (0.75-inches) ferrofluid cooled, titanium dome HF unit with a powerful neodymium magnet system. Perfect for this type of application, the point source driver system generates a spherical wave front unaffected by energy loss at the crossover frequency in either vertical or horizontal planes. Specifically designed for installations demanding premium sonic quality for music and speech reinforcement plus exceptional reliability and intelligibility, the miniature Dual Concentric drive unit provides a wide and controlled dispersion for optimum coverage. Featuring an extended frequency response (54kHz) and very low distortion, the Tannoy iw4DC is equipped with dynamic high frequency protection.
Manufactured from UV/weather resistant UL94V-0 ABS material, the injection moulded front baffle provides a robust mounting platform for the driver and passive frequency-dividing network. Complementing any style of decor, the perforated metal grille and slim profile baffle can be painted to blend seamlessly with any environment.
Ensuring quick installation the four-way, spring loaded self-aligning clamp mechanism allows easy alignment and adjustment. The iw4 DC loudspeaker has been designed for installation into standard stud partition wall systems. They may also be used in cavity walls constructed with standard thickness drywall as well as a wide range of other wall construction types up to a thickness of 25.4mm (one inch).
